Tails of a Wuff...

Well, I'm sat on the eurolines coach as I speak, on the way to London. I'm feeling quite upset now that I've got to go back home, I've had a wonderful time and I've decided to write out a little report on it, as I usually don't do these kind of things, but it is in my thoughts that I probably should. (People have been nagging!)

Well, where do I start.. Perhaps Friday might be best!

I started my journey over to Paris, by getting a coach from Sheffield to Manchester, at around 1pm. The ticket was pretty cheap, about half the cost of the train and I also booked my return journey up from london, totalling the princly sum of £14!

Upon arriving in Manchester, I stopped over to see my parents briefly, having some nice lunch with them. Then we went down to Manchester coach station to get.a quick 40 min transfer to Liverpool airport. Upon arrival, I checked in and wandered through security in a brief 5 minutes, definately good ;)

From then. I had a quick bite to eat and headed over to the gate where boarding commenced imminently. This was all going far too smoothly so far, I was expecting something to have screwed up by now!

Nope, the flight boarded, closed doors and set off dead on time. For a short flight, the easyjet airbus a319 was more than comfortable and 50 mins later (20 mins ahead of schedule) we arrived at Paris CDG.

From there, a 20 minute walk ensued over to the airport RER terminal. Quickly, from there we arrived in Paris... So many connections later and around 12 hours after I set off, I arrived at Timduru's very early in the morning.

After a long, well deserved rest, we had some breakfast and a quick dip in Tim's pool, brrrr... The water wasn't quite hot enough! Oh well ;)
After that, we generally lazed around watching movies, talking and not doing anything in particular right up until 1am :)

On Sunday, much of a munchness occurred and I showed Tim some of the stuff we're working on for CF 2009. Later on, Grumpfbear came over to see us and we sat about watching stuff on youtube to get silly ideas for a project that BBF, Tim & Kenai are working on. After that, we started to film it in Tim's dance studio, which he has turned his garage into. You'll see more of this at EuroFurence. When people work on projects like this, it does make you think about people in Europe doing more stuff simply because it's fun and not whining about other furries, after all, aren't we meant to get together to have fun, isn't that part of what we're about? .. anyway! Grumpfbear eventualy retired at about midnight to go home and we went to bed :p

At 6am, we woke up and then I got a lift with Timduru over to the RER at Massy-Palaiseau, which was a speedy connection into paris, then onto a metro to the coach station at Galleini... Which btw is a total dive, you'd be better off just not thinking about it and staying there, I popped out to the shopping centre above, which is quite nice. So, after a couple of hours, the coach has stopped in Calais to refuel and now I'm typing this... Hopefully on my way home without delay!

... Pleasent surprises later, I found out that the coach isn't going via ferry like I had assumed, it is running through the eurotunnel instead. After a very short french announcement, half the passengers got off the coach and the british people followed. We stood around like aimless sheep until I asked one of the french customs officers in english what we were supposed to do, at which point he glared at the driver and with a smile explained what we should do.... 15 mins later, we were in the coach again and setting off to Kent at 120ish MPH!

From then, a swift journey ensued onto the shuttle which was quite fast and pleasent and we enjoyed the journey into london, seeing some areas I've never been before.

As from then a quick journey to Sheffield, food then bed... ZZZZzzzzzZZZZzzzz

A lovely trip all in all and I can't wait to go again. Thanks Timduru!

Yep, that's right people, I'm taking a well earned break over in Paris, I shall be there till Monday. I hope that the journey is smooth and quick, some pics will be posted later :)

And yep, I'm staying with my pal, Timduru, who I'm looking forward to spending time with.

... It's funny how the NorthernFurs never had any of the issues facing LondonFurs to this extent, isn't it?

We had staff, proper organisation, etc. This is before the organisers stagnated and went on to better things.

Should we give up on FurAffinity and go somewhere more reliable?

It's probably just me here, but it springs to mind that the website which actively can't be arsed to take money from advertising clients or infact can't be bothered following up on leads for advertising, has been down for quite a while now.

If you want to know why I say this, ConFuzzled was going to pay FurAffinity for advertising space and despite contacting 4 admins, nobody knew who looked after that or how much it would cost.

I get the feeling that I could do a better job of keeping it online with a reliable host ;)

Sooo.. what's your thoughts?

Well, i've not updated in a while due to being stupidly busy.

I just wanted to let people know i've started trimming down my IM client list to the people I only really talk to.

That said, I still find there's a ton of people who are still there, who do start conversations occasionally but then fizzle off into nothing... it's becoming boring online!

Anyone want to go back to that thing, where people used to call each other? ... the phone. ^^

Our fantastic Editor, Twll/Jinxxy/Pumathing has put up a short editorial called "A Short History Of A Tall Order" on making a conbook from the start to the end and what his thoughts were about producing it.

It's been a great journey from start to finish and without everyone involved, we couldn't have got it completed.

Timduru has been a friend of mine for about, oh, 9 years now and was one of the first furries i've ever met, we've never disagreed on anything and he really is one of the people you're glad to be around as he's always a lot of fun and also he's a really good fursuiter who puts a lot into the furry community and rarely asks for anything back.

Well, i'm 24 now... nothing seems to be different than previous, I certainly don't feel any older, however I did get ID'd *TWICE* yesterday, so I take it as a compliment.

In addition, in late summer, i'm thinking of organising a fursuit walk around sheffield combined with a picnic, is there any preliminary interest?
